A mama bear and her young cub/son prepare for bed, and play a game of reciting the day's events backwards, reveling in the wonders they experienced. I love David McPhail's illustrations, being a sucker for Mama Bear/Baby Bear stories, such as I am. The text is large and perfect for little ones; each illustration capturing the perfect element of each of the day's adventures. To top it off, Baby Bear sleeps with his human boy doll, the perfect opposite to so many children who sleep with teddy bears. Finally, the end papers remind me so much of another complete bear world . . . an echo of the Hundred Acre Wood, bringing to a close a wondrously sweet story.
