Anton Can Do Magic

Anton Can Do Magic - Ole Könnecke A very simple story, perfect for beginning readers. Magic can be circumstantial, but it is magic nonetheless. Equal balance between the text and the charming illustrations.I have changed my star review from three stars to four stars. I think the simplicity of the illustrations and the text belie the strength of the story. The resonance of the book is similar to me of many classically simple picture books of the past. I'm a firm believer in the power of believing in magic, whatever age one might be. I think we'd all do well to abide by the gentle wonder of this story.
