A perfect package for precocious early readers who have a flair for historical fantasy. The Flint Heart combines a historical framework for a legendary tale, and throws in literary devices as education and example. Beautiful use of language and manners make this perfect for a read-aloud. I read an advance reader's galley, so the illustrations were in black and white. I'm sure the finished art work will be a fine amplification of the narrative. Recommended.
