Like another reviewer, I too, have qualms about a book that starts out with the child over hearing mom telling dad that the child has been a monster all day. Besides that, it's a nicely illustrated, kinda fun take on indulging excess and wearing it out and thereby realizing the loneliness of being truly extreme. I'm not sure though, in the end, who this book is more appropriately aimed: the mother? or the child? I'd be hard pressed to recommend it, even though there are good elements to balance my quibbles.
